click on the + sign next to Diablo II

You'll see the save folder

right click on the new folder, select rename
call it backup

TO COPY FILES:

1. Select the files you want to backup
(hold down the Ctrl key when you click to select additional files)
Character files have the following extension: .d2s
don't worry about the other char file types, they are not necessary(.key, .map, .ma0, .ma1, .ma2, .ma3)
If you don't see the file extensions, see below
You can select ALL files by going to the Edit menu,
Select All Ctrl+A

2. Once you have selected the files you want,
Hold down the Ctrl key and drag to the backup folder
you created above
(you can also right click on the selected files, select Copy
then right click on the backup folder and select Paste)

Jamella also has a backup feature...
When you save your character, select "Make backup copy"
This creates a file with the .jam extension
If you want to revert to backup, delete the file with the .d2s extension
then change the .jam extension to .d2s

To View file extensions:
From Windows Explorer, Select the Tools Menu
Select Folder Options
Click on the View tab
Uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types"
