Diablo II patch 1.10 has been released (October 28, 2003). If you haven't updated yet, go into the game and log onto battle.net and you'll automatically get updated.
LOT'S of BIG changes for 1.10... Stay tuned for more info.
I'll be updating this website as much as possible over the next few weeks.
You can still use 1.09 high level chars by making your 1.09 files read only.
Right click on the .d2s file, select properties, then at the bottom click Read-only

Download the ZIP file. UNZIP it. There should be three files ("setup.lst", "setup.exe", "OS Setup.CAB"). Run (double click) the "setup.exe" file, and follow the directions (Click on the big button, on the left side). When it finishes, you should be able to run Hero Editor.
Zonfire's Hero Editor V0.71 seems to be working for Non-Expansion character files now. It allows you to open, edit, and save Non-Expansion character files. But, still has all of the LOD features "available".
It will be up to YOU to make sure that you don't use any of the LOD features.
So, make only small changes at a time, in case you accidentally add an LOD feature, and cause your character file to have errors, resulting in "bad dead bodies" when trying to load your character into a game.
What's New

Hero Editor usually requires that you are using an English version of Windows. Make sure that you set the "regional and language settings" to English.

UDIE Editor For 1.10 Diablo 2 (97Kb) -- 1.10.010 JAN04
Very cool editor, has the look and feel of Diablo 2. Takes a little getting used to, because it's quite different from the other editors.
Includes a bit editor, so you need to be more than a 'bit' carefull!
Because of the bit editor, you can easily enter an invalid number for properties.
The editor doesn't limit the values you type in. So, I wouldn't recommend it for beginners.
